Due to the ongoing Mountain Fire and air quality in our area, the Hueneme Elementary School District has made the difficult decision to close all schools, including E.O. Green Junior High School, tomorrow, Thursday, November 7th. We will be sure to give you an update regarding the school status for Friday, November 8th. Thank you for your understanding. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this fire. Dear E.O. Green JHS Community, November is Military Family Month, a time dedicated to recognizing and honoring the invaluable contributions and sacrifices made by military families. Throughout this month, we celebrate the resilience, strength, and dedication of those who support our service members. At E.O. Hornet Community, Tomorrow is Halloween and the final day of our Red Ribbon Week, a national campaign that promotes making healthy choices and living drug-free. Red Ribbon Week is a valuable time for our students to learn about the importance of resisting peer pressure and making positive decisions that support their well-being and future goals. Each year, schools across the country participate in this week to foster a commitment to healthy, drug-free lifestyles. To celebrate, our Spirit Day theme for tomorrow is “Dress Like a Superhero”! Students may show their spirit by dressing as their favorite superhero, but please remember that capes and masks are not permitted, and all students must wear uniform bottoms. As we approach the end of the first trimester on November 8, please continue to encourage your child to bring a fully charged Chromebook and charger to school each day and to be on time. School starts promptly at 8:00 a.m. Also, a reminder that there is no school on November 1 due to our Professional Development Day. These forms are critical to our school's success because they allow us to access vital funding for programs, resources, and services that directly support every student’s academic journey. This funding impacts areas such as classroom resources, extracurricular activities, and special programs that help students thrive. Without these forms, our school could miss out on essential support that helps students reach their fullest potential. We cannot stress enough how important it is for all families to submit their completed forms. Hello Hornets, I wanted to congratulate our parent School Site Council representatives who were elected to the council. Congratulations to parents Norma Cortez, Mariano Chavez and Maribel Alvarez, we look forward to your leadership for E.O. Greens School Site Committee (SSC).
