Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are excited to invite you and your students to the GradNation Conference 2025: "Student Success – You Can Make It Happen – High School, College, and Career." This important event will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at Blackstock Junior High School, located at 701 E. Bard Road, Oxnard.
This conference is a free event designed to help families and students enhance high school graduation rates and prepare for the future. During the conference, you will have the opportunity to learn how to support your child’s academic success through effective family engagement. Parents and students can participate in interactive workshops that address topics such as preparing for high school and beyond, accessing financial aid for college, and exploring career pathways.
The conference will include a continental breakfast, lunch, and the chance to win prizes. A resource fair will feature school and community organizations offering valuable information and services. Free childcare for children ages three and older will be available for attendees. Registration and breakfast will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., and workshops will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m.
The sessions will include presentations in English and Spanish on topics such as:
Navigating high school transitions and understanding graduation requirements.
University 101, offering essential college preparation information for families.
Dual enrollment opportunities with Oxnard College.
Financial aid guidance for higher education.
Career pathways and academies at local high schools.
Tools for managing time, communication, and social changes during academic transitions.
