This document will explain how to get started in 6 easy steps.

We are pleased to announce that the Hueneme Elementary School district is partnered with ParentSquare. For those of you not as familiar, Parent Square is a communication and organization tool designed to keep families informed and involved in their children's learning and school activities. You will receive messages from the school and your child's teacher through email, text, and app notifications.

ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.

Please contact your student's school if email or cell phone number updates are necessary. ParentSquare can only recognize you as a parent/guardian if your school has the same email and text cell phone information for you in the system.

It is not necessary to download the app again, but if you don't see your HESD students, try one of these solutions:

• Sign out of the app and sign in again

• 0pen the three line menu in the top bar of the app. You may need to verify your cell phone number or choose Combine Accounts

Feel free to call you school office if you need further assistance.

• Receive messages from the school via email, text, or app notification

• Choose to receive information as it comes or all at once at 6 pm daily

• Communicate in your preferred language

• Comment on school postings to engage with your school community

• Participate in group messages

• Sign up for parent-teacher conferences with smart online technology

• Verify student absences

1. Go to Google Play Store or iOS App store to download the ParentSquare app

2. Choose SIGN IN or REGISTER then enter your email or cell phone number and tap CONTINUE

It's important that the email address or cell phone number match those on file in the school office

3. Create your password

4. Then go to your email or cell phone text messages and look for a message from ParentSquare to verify your account.

1. Tap the three-line icon in the top left. Choose ACCOUNT, then PREFERENCES

2. Tap NOTIFICATION SETTINGS

3. Select how you'd like to be notified. (text, email, and/or app) and if you want to receive each post when it is sent (instant), or all posts for the day at 6 p.m. (digest)

OR to change the language you see posts in, choose LANGUAGE SETTINGS
